Thailand Training Camp: Dusty’s War

Dusty Middlebrook’s First Fight Without Gear

“It’s either going to be a knockout for me, a knockout for him, it’s going to be a war and I’m going to win.” -Dusty Middlebrook

The quote says it all.

Dusty Middlebrook is having his first fight without gear of any kind. No head gear. No shin guards. It’s simply going to be fists crashing against skulls and shins against flesh. But none of this bothers Dusty in the slightest. In fact, this may even be motivating. Dusty has trained with ferocity, and he will fight with even more ferocity.

Dusty’s mindset is simple. It’s a Diaz brothers mindset, a Ramon Dekkers mindset. It’s to use his advantages to beat his opponent until he either breaks or gets knocked out. With any way this goes, Dusty will give nothing less than his all, and he also expects nothing but his opponent’s all in return. If his opponent is unable to match his mindset, he will lose.

Dusty gave the fight his all. And he won. Just as he predicted.

The fight was a back and forth battle. However, Dusty had done more than enough to prepare for the fight. His training at Khongsittha had been some of the best training of his life. He was prepared for anything. He could either get a flash knockout in 10 seconds or go the distance with a 3-round war.

Dusty’s ferocity, hard work, and heart earned him a 2-week sponsorship from Nak Muay Nation. His drive served not only as entertainment during the fight, but his drive during his fight and training also serves as inspiration for his fellow Nak Muays of Khongsittha gym.

Everyone is looking forward to training with him again, and we look forward to seeing another great display of heart from Dusty Middlebrook.

The next Nak Muay Nation Training Camp will take place from the beginning of July until the end of August.
