FROM QUITTER… TO ACTOR
Of all the New Years Resolutions you have set, how many have you stuck to?
I hope that you’ve stuck to at least to the most important ones. However, if you’re like most, you may have strayed from them already. There is no need to bow your head in shame. All you have to do is to get back to it. Don’t follow the downward spiral and let it get worse. You can stop it here and now and start getting better.
Here’s some motivation from a student at Evolve MMA who went from quitter to actor:

REWIRING THE MIND TO WIN
They say that you can’t teach heart – I disagree. If you can physically rewire the brain so that the deaf may hear, you can rewire the brain of a quitter and turn him into someone who never gives up.
Let’s take an example from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Josh Waitzkin is the co-founder of Marcelo Garcia Academy in New York City and the first BJJ black belt under the all-time great Marcelo Garcia. One trait he looks for in those who want to succeed is the will to challenge themselves and to push beyond their comfort zone. Specifically, he looks at what the BJJ players do when they’re gassed out in training. Do they pick an easier partner to spar with so that they can take a break? Or do they continue picking the toughest dudes in the gym?
Now, some beginners come into the gym and constantly challenge themselves by sparring the toughest guys. Some do the opposite. However, as time passes, those who were taking it easy learn to challenge themselves. They challenge themselves over and over again.
So even if you’re down, get back up. You don’t need to become the paragon of discipline right away. All you need to do is take the next step. Get back on track, take the next step – and the next, and the next, and the next…
