Muay Thai Monday: Should I Join a Kickboxing or MMA Gym?

If There’s No Muay Thai Gym, Where Should I Train?

Unfortunately, since Muay Thai is still a growing sport, we are not always able to train at a Thai boxing gym. So if there isn’t a gym dedicated to Muay Thai in your town, but there is an MMA gym and a kickboxing gym, which one should you train at if you want to compete in Muay Thai?

This is the exact question Ricardo sent me, and this is my answer for this weeks Muay Thai Monday:

nmntshirtEvery week I release a new “Muay Thai Mondays Q&A Session” every week where I’ll be answering questions about techniques, fight strategy, mindset, nutrition and anything related to Muay Thai.

If you’d like your question(s) answered AND if you want to win a free Nak Muay Nation t-shirt or tanktop, submit your question by:

  1. Filming yourself asking the question. If it’s technique oriented, try to show me what you mean.
  2. Upload it and email it to sean (at) nakmuaynation.com
  3. BOOM! That’s it!

If you enjoy this weekly segment be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel and let me know your thoughts, comments and any suggestions for future episodes in the comments below (or on the video itself).

  1. Hi Sean,
Where I live there is only karate for kids. Since I am 67 years old nearly 68. I train on my own with Muay thai videos. I train to tone up and self defense. At my age and still in love with Muay Thai I must be crazy. Happy New Year Sean.
