LET'S GET INTIMATE WITH THE 'MUAY THAI GUY'

I don’t know if you know him, but there’s this fella called Sean Fagan, (also known as the 'Muay Thai Guy' and he's pretty cool.

He runs a pretty nifty site called The Muay Thai Guy...? Definitely recommend checking that out when you have the time...

 Jokes aside, Sean went from a waiter at Red Lobster to an incredible entrepreneur who’s done it all, from fighting in Madison Square Garden and in Thailand, to building a giant library of online Muay Thai classes, to hosting the most beautiful Muay Thai vacations.

It has surely been an amazing journey with so many lessons learned, but why would you want to hear me talk about it? Why don’t you hear it from the man himself?!

1-V-1: Peter 'The Gentleman' Crooke

GREAT BRITAIN'S BEST MUAY THAI HERO

Using just a few words, how on earth can one begin to properly describe a Muay Thai champion? Luckily for one such champion, it can be done with the use of a single word — gentleman.

Given that nickname when he fought in his Super League days, Peter “The Gentleman” Crooke has left a mark on the Muay Thai and kickboxing worlds that will never be forgotten. He accomplished this all while being a full-time police officer and competing with a massive injury early in his career, leaving him with no ACL in his left leg.

Crooke amassed titles in SIMTA and WAKO Pro (being the champ in both the Super Welterweight and Light Middleweight division), as well as becoming the WMTC champion and fighting the top fighters in his division the whole time.

Crooke, born in Wombourne, England and now retired from the fighting world, entered Muay Thai much like his friend Ole Laursen...

OLE LAURSEN & THE ENDLESS PURSUIT OF PERSEVERANCE

The building blocks of a world-class fighter are numerous and depending on who you ask, quite varied. Some may focus on the tangibles, the math — "What’s their record?" Some might look closer at technique and coachibility, while still others believe it’s all about natural skills and ability.

If you ask me, it’s the fighter’s heart and determination to keep going that count the most — what I call the "endless pursuit of perseverance." A paradigm of this approach to the game is International fighter Ole Laursen.

Born in the Philippines and raised in Denmark, Laursen took up Thai boxing at a young age. He burst onto the fight scene by capturing wins and becoming the champ in both the International Kickboxing Federation and International Muay Thai Championships, as well as snagging the prestigious King’s Cup in Thailand in 2002.
