The Muay Thai Guys Podcast – Episode 28
There is no mathematical equation to how much potential one has.
This potential is something we might see in ourselves, but we often limit how far we can take our bodies and our minds because of various factors. Although there is no perfect equation to unleashing your inner greatness, there are a number of things you can do to help… and that’s exactly what Paul and I discuss in this weeks podcast:
5 Things Needed to Unlock Your TRUE Potential
#1. A Limitless Mindset
You need to believe in things that other people think are absolutely insane.
Will people understand why you fight in such a dangerous sport like Muay Thai? Probably not (unless all your friends and family train too, which would be awesome). It’s extremely common for people to think you are crazy for pursuing your passion for fighting… but in reality, they’re the crazy ones.
#2. A Positive Environment and Team
Sometimes you might struggle envisioning yourself succeeding.
Sometimes it’s others that help you see your true potential.
Having a passionate, caring team around you (both in AND out of the gym) will be crucial to your overall happiness and success. You are who you surround yourself with, so make sure to surround yourself with a bunch of badass Muay Thai fighters!
#3. A Passion and A Vision
Passion is not something we can sit down and create. We have to find it by trying new things – which are often uncomfortable because they put us out of our comfort zone.
Passion is something we hold deep inside, it’s passion that helps us sustain countless hours in the gym, away from friends and family. Many fail at what they pursue because their ‘why’ isn’t strong enough and passion is not present.
What’s your vision? What do you see yourself accomplishing in this life?
Those are questions you need to ask yourself on a regular basis.
#4. The Willingness To Create Opportunities
Opportunities come in all shapes and sizes — they can even be completely invisible sometimes and hard to see.
Sometimes you have to create opportunities and sometimes you’ll be handed them. Regardless of how you find these opportunities, it’s important to capitalize off them as often as possible to have maximum impact on your dreams.
#5. Resiliency To Failure
The best athletes, entrepreneurs, doctors and anyone “successful” in this world has failed hundreds (if not thousands) of times when trying to accomplish their goals. Failure is part of the game and learning how to use it as a learning experience is one of the most vital things you can do to ensure your future success.
