How To Counter The Body Kick With a Low Kick
We all know how the Muay Thai body kick can break ribs and cripple fighters. When that shin is planted across the body of a fighter and you hear that ‘thud’, you can only imagine the pain that fighter must be dealing with.
If you want to avoid taking damage from the body kick, you need to know how to counter it effectively (obviously). Although some of the best ways to counter a kick to the body is to avoid it or check it, sometimes we aren’t fast enough. So if you’re not able to check or evade the kick, the next best thing is to block and counter it with a hard low kick of your own.
See this counter technique in action and how to throw it properly in this video tutorial by Muay Thai champion Mathias Gallo Cassarino of 7 Muay Thai Gym in Thailand.
