Glory 12 NYC Lightweight Tournament
Andy Ristie vs. Giorgio Petrosyan
What a night at Madison Square Garden for Glory kickboxing. The night was full of upsets, knockouts and exciting fights that left the New York fans hungry for more. One of the most shocking fights of the night was in the first round of the Glory lightweight tournament between heavily favorited, Giorgio Petrosyan, versus the underdog, Andy Ristie.
The fight started off relatively slow with both fighters feeling each other out. I noticed that Petrosyan did not look as comfortable in the ring as he normally does, and I believe it had a lot to do with Andy Ristie’s unorthodox style. Ristie made it loud and clear that he was not a fan of Petrosyan’s fighting style and wanted to bring the fight to him. It took Ristie a couple round, but you could see the sense of urgency Ristie had at the start of round 3.
I sure as hell did not see that coming, did you?
